State Senator Seeks To Legalize Medical Marijuana In Ohio

The Dayton Daily News informs us that State Sen. Tom Roberts wants to legalize Marijuana for medicinal use.

"Our laws should reflect the latest in medical research, which has shown that medical cannabis has a variety of benefits for treating pain, nausea and other symptoms related to a wide range of disease," Roberts said in a prepared statement.

The plan would set up a state regulated system of care. The Health and Agriculture Departments would be authorized to set up an advisory board to:
  • Consider granting medicinal use of cannabis in cases of debilitated medical conditions.
  • Consider applications for and renewals of registry identification cards for qualified patients and primary caregivers.
  • Provide recommendations for the safe use and efficient growing of medicinal cannabis.

Alright Ohio! Very progressive thinking you've got over there. I'm glad someone is recognizing the legit research being done on Marijuana and not the BS from the FDA.

Good for Ohio State Senator

Good for Ohio State Senator Tom Roberts. I hope he get's the change so many seriously ill people need.  Senator Ted Kennedy fits the profile for a perfect Medical Marijuana patient. His brain cancer has very little prospect for treatment by any currently available medicines. But, what if there was a humble, God given natural cure? A Federal Government sponsored medical study (in Virginia) from the 70's showed that marijuana actually shrinks brain tumors. This study was discontinued, the results burned, and the truth paved over. But the truth will out. Recent studies from Spain & other countries show the same results, "Cannabis Shrinks Brain Tumors." So, all these years people could have been treated with good ol' marijuana extract, & for very little cost. But, NO! Our government has to keep this unique medical cure out of the hands of Doctors at all costs. Patient's must die without hope, or knowledge of a potential treatment. While our crazed Drug Czar continues to spout garbage from the 70's. Like, "marijuana is a schedule 1 drug, with a high risk of abuse, and no proven medicinal value". You politicians in Washington made the Drug Schedules & you can change them, at will. There's a mountain of peer reviewed medical studies that have proven marijuana's medicinal many values. Marijuana is far safer than tobacco or alcohol. Millions of voting Americans are using it, and it's hard to abuse. In fact, the Federal Government says that it's impossible to die from a marijuana overdose. That it's safer than many of the foods that we eat. That addiction is rare, withdrawal is short-lived & mild. But, these are seriously ill patients we're talking about. They'll likely have to stay on meds the rest of their lives. So, the risk of abuse, or addiction isn't even an issue. All these facts contradict the Government's old, worn-out, disproven classification, and propaganda. So, the Drug Czar is a clueless, farcical Zombie, or a Liar.  Who does this man really represent? Not me. Down with the Czar!  We don't need no stinkin' Czar's. I for one am getting really mad at our heartless tyrants in Washington. Now, they have a chance to save one of their most beloved fellows. Let's just see how much they really care about their friend. Is it really so hard for them to admit they're wrong? Where's their compassion?  You people in Washington better figure it out soon. You represent us & we want Medical Marijuana legalized, now. So, don't wait. Because, Senator Kennedy, and others like him are out of time. They can't wait. Why is it that we have to get angry to get change in Washington? Well, we aren't going to wait any longer. I have written to all my representatives & potential candidates. Their reaction is always negative. But, they're going to keep hearing from voters like me. Let's all write them, and if they won't change the laws. We'll change our representatives, by voting them out. Also, Let the candidates for their jobs know that we're fed up. Yeah, it's voter's rebellion & for 38 years you asked for it. Change the hardline to a heartline.  Sincerely, M Mintere
